The Great Derby of the East – North East USC vs Atletico de Kolkata

The derby flavor is going to grip East India as two of the most promising sides go head to head in Guwahati. The Hillsiders will take on half Spanish Kolkata who are fresh from trouncing Mumbai City FC 3-0 at Salt Lake just 4 days ago.

There are going to be some fireworks as the passions will run high in this derby. Both set of fans are known for their fierce love for their sides and football. Anything less than 3 points will enrage the crowds. If anyone has any doubts then one should checkout the Kolkata derbies on YouTube.

Key Battles –

Battle in Midfield –

The last game was won in midfield by Atletico as they completely outclassed their rivals. Luis Garcia is the heart and soul of this midfield and it is absolutely imperative to keep the Spaniard in check. North East too, have got some ammo in their midfield as their playmaker Koke will trouble this all Spanish midfield of Atletico.

Koke vs Denzil Franco

The Spanish attacker is a slicky customer. He just stealths past defenders to get the desired space and time to get his sight on goal. It will be Kolkata’s Franco’s prime responsibility to keep a tab on Koke.

Franco is a sturdy defensive midfielder who always does the dirty work for his side. Tonight Koke will be on top of his to do list.

Players to Watch –

NEUSC –

Boithang Haokip –

The pacey winger can give a bit slow and possession oriented Kolkata side a nightmare as he can be lethal on counters with his tearaway pace. He had a decent game against Kerala Blasters. He will be their key player if they want to stop Kolkata tonight.

Atletico de Kolkata –

Fikru Teferra –

The lanky Ethiopean is known for his pace, physicality and deadly finishing. A defender’s nightmare. He can a thorn in the flesh for a relatively diminutive NEUSC defense. He was superb against Mumbai. He can very well trouble the North Eastrners tonight.
