NorthEast United vs Fc Pune City Preview

The unlucky side from the eastern terrain host highflying side from the west as Pune travel to Guwahati for their fixture against the Seven Sisters.

Pune are in sublime form as they are gelling together as a team as the tournament enters into its second half.

Key Battles

Koke vs Kostas Katsouranis

Both the players are talisman’s of their respective sides. Koke is creative general of NorthEast whereas Kostas is heart and soul of Pune’s midfield. The legendary Greek midfielder has transformed a weak Pune midfield into a formidable unit. It will be interesting to see how Kostas manages to go on the offensive when he is dealing with a burly Spaniard.

Miguel Garcia vs Dudu Omagbemi

This is a battle which is very hard to miss, especially when Garcia has been a rock for the Eastenders, who have a formidable home run of form. Dudu is back from the grave as he is capitalising on the absence of Pune’s star man David Trezeguet.

Players to watch

NorthEast United

Rehenesh TP – He is the second best Indian goalkeeper, bettered only by Mumbai’s Subrata Pal. He is one of the reasons why Northeast are so solid at the back and this time he will have to be at his best to keep an in-form Pune side at bay.

FC Pune City

Israil Gurung - The prodigal son of Indian football is taking the ISL by storm as he is becoming a menace with his pace and creative passing. One to watch out with a microscopic vision.
