Andrea Pirlo to NYCFC

The Champions League final against Barcelona seems to be the last game Andrea Pirlo played in the black and white of Juventus, as a deal now seems to have been struck between Pirlo and MLS side New York City FC.

New York City FC a sister club of Manchester City were established two years ago, and are in their first season of MLS. NYCFC who have already signed Spanish striker David Villa and former Chelsea star Frank Lampard, but adding a player of Pirlo’s proven quality, evident by his critical role in getting the Bianconeri to the final, would arguably be their biggest coup yet.

Pirlo and agents were in New York for the past week as two parties found a perfect contract for the Italian maestro.

"Goal has now learned that Pirlo has agreed a move to MLS and will be confirmed as an NYC FC player before the end of the week," reported Steve Petrella of Goal.

His honours:

6 Serie A
