Overview:
Real Madrid scored 4 past a hapless Granada side. Ronaldo opened the scoring, with less than two minutes on the clock the score board read, Granada 0 – 1 Real Madrid. The build up to the goal involved good work on the right flank from Carvajal as he fought for a 50-50 ball and won it, before tucking it to Benzema who cut back an intelligent pass, which Ronaldo places in the right bottom corner of the net.
Madrid where off to a flier. Granada who were expected to be a throne in the fixtures for Real, where being played around by Ancelotti’s side. Granada where disciplined defensively, where able to contain the tempo for a while but just couldn’t pose any threat while going forward.
Madrid had their second goal of the night through James Rodriguez, who brilliantly chipped the keeper from a difficult angle and again showing the world why he was worth the fee. Second assist of the night for Benzema. And second for Real, who almost wrapped up the game. There was a bad news for Madrid faithful as they saw right back Carvajal go off injured. Arbeloa replaced Danny Carvajal for rest of the game.

Second half was no different, as Real Madrid started as they left. Confident on the ball, playing it around with Kroos and Modric distributing it for the runners. With Isco and James interchanging positions it all looked good for Real. As the half progressed, at 54 minute Karim Benzema scored a much deserved goal as he was found by a unbelievable back heel from Ronaldo as Benzema took a touch and finished it. 3 – Nil to Madrid.
Real looked set to extend their 10 game unbeaten run as Granada showed no visible signs of come back. The match was put to bed a long time ago but, in form man James Rodriguez wasn’t done yet as he scored again to round off the drubbing.
