Bayern Munich storms into semis with one of the greatest comebacks of all time in Champions League history. The Munich club thrashed Porto 6-1 in the home leg after returning with two goal deficit with a 3-1 defeat in Portugal.

Bayern’s attacking trio starred in this win as they ran riot and destroyed Porto’s defence with their clinical finishing. Robert Lewandowski chipped in with a brace while Mueller, Gotze and Thiago Alcantara also added to Porto’s misery.

Thiago opened scoring in 14th minute after he made a surging run from deep into midfield to head the ball into Fabiano’s net. This goal broke Allianz Arena’s roof as the crowd started roaring with their chants. Jerome Boateng too registered himself on the scoresheet with a rousing header. This goal brought Bayern back into the game as they leveled Porto and were favorite due to away goal advantage.

Now Robert Lewandowski joined the party also with a header to complete a hattrick of headers for Bayern. Now Bayern had sealed the game with this goal and Porto looked almost dead and done inside 30 minutes.

Thomas Mueller joined the party with a thumping shot from the edge of penalty box to lad the killer blow. And Lewandowski put the game completely out of Porto’s sight with his sublime finish. Bayern went into the half with a scoreline of 5-0.

Xabi Alonso scored Bayern’s 6th and rubbed salt to Porto’s wounds. Jackson Martinez scored a consolation for the visitors in 83rd minute to give aggregate scoreline some credibility.
