Roma comes back from a goal behind to salvage a draw as Juve maintains its 9 point lead at the top of table over the capital club. Carlos Tevez scored the opener for the visitors while Seydou Keita’s late header gives Roma a point.
The game began with boisterous atmosphere as there were flares all around. Juve’s star man this summer Paul Pogba was on the bench as Allegri went with the midfield trio of Vidal, Marchisio and Pereyra.
It was a cagey first half as both the teams played cautious game. It was a goalless first half and the hosts seemed happy heading into the interval with a clean slate.
The second half was a different ball game altogether as Juve started to venture out more and Romans to reciprocate with some aggressive play of their own. Soon, their efforts paid off as Roma’s Vasilis Torosidis was sent off for fouling Arturo Vidal, as the Juve man was heading towards the goal in one vs one situation.
Carlos Tevez then showed his magic off the dead ball as he magnificently dipped the ball up and over the wall to beat Roma keeper De Sanctis. But Roma were in no mood to go down as they started to barrage Juve with their attacks.
Their efforts paid off as Seydou Keita headed ball home from a superb free kick from Florenzi in 77th minute. This goal sent the crowd into frenzy and since then it looked like the capital boys will take all three points from this game. But the Old Lady held their ground and in turn maintained their unbeaten run stretching to 16 games.
