Indian Football Team departs for Czech Republic

The Asian Games will be held in Incheon, South Korea this year, and an Indian team comprised of 25 members have left for the Czech Republic to participate in a 19-day exposure tour that ends on the 8th of August.


Four Players from the former 29-member squad – Deepak Devrani, Shouvik Ghosh, Sanjay Balmuchu and Romeo Fernandes – have not travelled to Czech, though they were practicing under the National Coach Wim Koevermans. They have been released from the Camp.


There are several matches that the team has to play during their time in Pilsen.


In Czech, they will play against clubs Senco Doubravka, FK Most and TJ Domazlice. The Team will be based in Pilsen. The team will also be playing two matches as a part of a Friendly Series against the Pakistan U-23 team. This will happen in Bangalore, on the 17th and the 20th of August 2014. Then they have another exposure tour in China which will go on from the 25th of august to the 8t of September. There, they will play matches against the Shanghai FC and JiangSu.


Sunil Chhetri, Robin Singh and Francis Fernandes are the three Senior Players who are part of the squad. The rest of the squad comprise of U-23 Players.


The 25-member squad at the Czech Republic is as follows:


GOALKEEPERS: Amrinder Singh, Ravi Kumar, Kamaljit Singh.


DEFENDERS: Pritam Kotal, Keenan Almeida, Joyner Lourenco, Shankar Sampingiraj, Sandesh Jhingan, Salam Singh, Narayan Das.


MIDFIELDERS: Pronoy Halder, Rowlin Borges, Clifton Dias, Alwyn George, Siam Hangal, Lalrindika Ralte, Dhanpal Ganesh, Milan Singh.


FORWARDS: Francis Fernandes (Senior Player), Seiminlen Doungel, Sunil Chhetri (Senior Player), Robin Singh (Senior Player), Haokip Thongkoshim, Alesh Sawant, Mandar Rao Desai.
