There has been strange turn of events in past six months or so at the Parc des Princes. Yohan Cabaye had his dream move for £18million from Newcastle to his home in Paris for super rich PSG.
But the dream has turned into nightmare of sorts as the Frenchman has failed to cement himself in PSG’s star studded line up. He recently made his desire open to move back to England.
This has alerted his suitors in the land with Liverpool looking to sign a replacement for an ageing Steven Gerrard. The Merseyside club is ready to make a formal bid for him in January. But they are not alone in this chase. They face stiff competition from Arsenal, who are long term admirers of Cabaye. But an asking price of around £20million is going to deter quite a few suitors.
Wenger was on the verge of signing his compatriot last time but he chose PSG over Arsenal. Manchester United are also known to be his admirers and are considered dark horses to land the 28 year old.
A saga is bewing up for sure in January which may get stretched till summer.
