Netherlands had a great manager leading them into the World Cup; they had a few key players too who could do the trick for them in the field. That’s exactly what they have done. They have a clean record having won all their group games and beating Mexico 2-1 in a tense match-up that resulted in a lot of name calling on the Dutch’s most valuable player. Here we are dissecting the list of best players for the Dutch national team in all the departments from defense to forward.

Best defender: Daley Blind

Daley Blind has been the Dutch defense best player. He’s been one of the most consistent defender in terms of his attacking prowess among all the defenders in the World Cup proved by the fact that he has racked up 3 assists.

Best Midfielder: Arjen Robben

Arjen Robben, the Bayern Munich man, has been magical to say the least; he clocked a speed of 37 km/h a little shy of Usain Bolt’s record, to score a spectacular goal against Spain. His performance has been paramount in his country reaching the Quarter Finals. He has 4 Man of the Match titles to his name, which means he won the accolade in all the matches in the World Cup which in itself is no mean feat.

Best Forward: Robin van Persie

The Dutch captain has led his team by example as he has played a major role, a spectacular one too, in warranting his team’s qualification in the Last 8 of the tournament. His “flying” goal scored against Spain was hands down one of the most unorthodox and stunning goals in World Cup history.  His presence is dreaded by opposition’s defenders and goal keepers as he makes them pay for any error on their part.
