Can Oscar be the saving grace for Brazil

Nearly every football fan in the world apart from the Germans cringed with despair after the debacle of a performance by Brazil. They tried to pull back in the second-half with heavy emphasis on attack but the German wall in the form of Manuel Neuer swatted all their attempts away and once again reiterated why he is the best goalie in the World. The only player that found a way past the wall was Oscar as he scored the only goal for his country.

The expectation to fill in Neymar’s shoes was on him in their semi-final game which didn’t go as planned due to their poor defense. He will still carry the same hopes on him to persevere and find some goals against Netherlands in the third place match tomorrow.

Oscar has been a key man in the Selecao midfield as he’s capable of attacking and also tracking back successfully. He has had a good campaign individually at home having scored 2 goals and providing 2 assists 6 games.

He will keep the Dutch backline of Vlaar, Blind, Martins Indi among others busy by putting pressure them to get his team ahead of van Gaal’s side and win the match.
