After a shock move from United to Arsenal, we have some trivia for the new Arsenal fans that will see and adore Welbeck.

1. Welbeck was first spotted by Manchester United as a six-year-old. At eight years old, he impressed with local side Fletcher Moss, and was finally signed by Manchester United youth academy.

2. Danny Welbecks’ full name is Daniel Nii Tackie Mensah Welbeck.

3. Welbeck is of Ghanaian decent, his parents Victor and Elizabeth hail from Ghana.

4. The Ghanaian FA reportedly tried to sign him before he played for England at junior level.

5. He made his England debut as a late sub against Ghana in March 2011 and was booed by a section of the Ghanaian fans.

6. He was rejected by Manchester City as an eight-year-old.

7. His favourite meal is Nandos.

8. Danny Welbeck was smart kid, he left school with nine GCSEs at C or above, including As in English literature and maths.

9. Ryan Giggs is Danny Welbeck’s role model and was quoted saying:“Obviously as a United fan it was Ryan Giggs – I loved watching him play since I was a little kid”

10. Danny Welbeck is represented by his brothers who are his agents.
