In a long career of Roberto Baggio had great achievements and bitter disappointments. He knew the frenzy of fans love and skepticism coaches. He spent his brilliant matches and scored amazing balls, but it happened many months did not leave the field because of injuries.
A true Legend only point being that he missed that dreaded penalty.
Baggio redeemed himself from the embarrassment of missing the World Cup 1994 goal in the US, by scoring a penalty shot during the 1998 World Cup in France. Baggio was back in the eyes of soccer fans.
In the 1998-1999 season, Inter Milan bought Baggio, but the following season, Baggio was sentenced to a lot of bench time thanks to the team's new coach, as well as several injuries.
Two years later, Baggio signed with Brescia on September 14, 2000.
Although he has had his gray moments, Baggio has amassed an impressive array of awards and honors including: UEFA Cup Winner 1992/1993, World Footballer of the Year 1993, European Footballer of the Year 1993, Italian Serie Champion 1994/1995 and 1995/1996, Coppa Italia winner 1994/1995, and on a personal note, he was voted Most Loved Player in a 2001 Internet poll.
The soccer player known for his trademark ponytail is also the father of two girls, Valentina and Mattia, with his wife of more than 10 years, Andreina Fabbri. He lists hunting as one of his favorite hobbies, and namesake Roberto Benigni of Life Is Beautiful fame as his favorite actor.
Life certainly is beautiful for this long-time soccer player.
