Bale who helped score Madrid the winning goals against Atletico in Champions and Copa del rey finals, has come to the forefront and proved his worth in the absence of star man Cristiano Ronaldo.

2)Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo

Lionel Messi:

Barcelona and Argentina captain who almost single handedly took his side to World cup semi-finals, had a season of struggle in his terms that is. As Messi marked a season hit with injuries last term, but still managed to score 36 goals from his 38 appearances. Once again proving why he is regarded as one of the greatest players of this era. With the new season under way, Messi has managed to score 6 goals from the opening 7 games.

Cristiano Ronaldo:

Last season's Ballon d'Or hit a staggering 48 goals from his 41 appearance. The greatest debate in football, will always be who's the best footballer, is it Leo Messi or the Madrid man, well he won the season's Ballon d'Or, but its too difficult to pick one player above the other as both of them have been performing on a phenomenal level.
