Arsenal buy Gabriel Paulista and Campbell joins Villarreal on loan

Villarreal have announced the sale of Brazilian centre-back Gabriel Paulista to Arsenal, while also confirming the six-month loan for Costa Rican striker Joel Campbell.

Spanish team Villarreal yesterday confirmed the sale of Centre Back Paulista, whom Arsenal have reportedly signed for a fee of £15m after a work permit was accepted by the FA.

A statement from Villarreal read:

“Principal transfer agreement with Arsenal for Gabriel, who will say goodbye before today’s game. Good Luck!”

In the same news, Arsenal's youngster and World Cup star Joel Campbell joined the yellow submarine on a 6 month loan.

Campbell who had a brilliant world cup for Costa Rica and impressed his parent club, could get enough chances to crack into the first eleven of the north London team.

Villarreal statement welcoming Campbell read:

“Welcome Joel Campbell! We’ve reached a loan agreement with Arsenal for the rest of the season. Endavant!”
