Rumor of the day: Arsenal set to sign Sami Khedira in January

In what could be a wild guess from the reporting English media, Arsenal could sign the Real Madrid central midfielder in the winter transfer window. With Khedira's contract expiring in summer, the Madrid club would want some kind of fee instead of losing him for free in the summer.

The English media report, Arsenal have submitted a £11m bid, which suits both the parties and a precontract has been agreed for the German to move to Arsenal in Jan.

With a lot of fellow Germans at the Emirates, could be another motivation for Khedira to make a move to the North London side. A weekly salary of 140k has been quoted according to the sources.
