AS Monaco could buy Wayne Rooney

A news which can defined as bizarre news of the day, Wayne Rooney is being touted for a move away from the Old Trafford.

Rooney who was handed the captaincy of the Manchester United side, has signed a massive 300k per week contract which makes him the highest paid Premier League player, but the arrival of Radamel Falcao this window and Juan Mata in the last window, could be one of the reasons for Rooney to make a move away from the Manchester club.

Monaco who sold their star winger James Rodriguez to Real Madrid for £60m and loaned Falcao to United have promised their fans of getting in new big name faces in future.

Vasilyev believes they will sign Rooney in the future but is not
sure when that day will arrive. Vasilyev also revealed he tried to sign the Englishman this summer.

He said: “One year ago, we were discussing one of the top players
of the Premier League, a top English player. But it was on the
table. This opportunity finally didn’t happen but I think one day
that it will come, it will happen.”
