Aston Villa and Spurs fined £20000 by FA

Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspurs have been fined by FA as they failed to control their players during the tie.

Cristian Bentekke was sent off in the tie after he got into a scuffle with Spurs midfielder Ryan Mason. The resultant brawl between both set of players led FA to act in this manner. An official statement from the FA read as follows,

“The charge was that the clubs failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion in or around the 66th minute of the match.

Both clubs accepted the standard penalty fine of £20,000.”

Aston Villa squandered their one goal lead post sending off as they lost to Spurs via dramatic goals from Nacer Chadli and Harry Kane.
