Atletico 0-0 Chennaiyin Match Report

Atletico de Kolkata XI: Roy (GK), Sahni, Arnab, Josemi, Saha, Nato, Borja, Lester, Luis Garcia (C), Jofre, Fikru

Chennaiyin FC XI: Bracigliano, Dane Pereira, Gouramangi, Silvestre, Dhanachandra, Materazzi, Djemba-Djemba, Elano, Harmanjot Khabra, Balwant, Mendoza

Atletico Kolkata and Chennaiyin FC shared the spoils as Kolkata hang on to top of the league table, ahead of Chennaiyin FC. This was the fourth straight draw for both the teams.

Marco Materazzi’s boys lined up in their preferred 4-3-1-2 with Elano playing as their advanced playmaker while Atletico countered it with a two man defensive sheild ahead of their defense with a defensive midfielder in Borja.

The game was very tactical as chances flew few and far between. The most notable one was a disallowed goal by Balwant Singh. It was noted that he had handled the ball while controlling the ball. Fikru was again back in his elements as he was consistently troubling the Chennai defense .He was unlucky as he should have scored at least one goal.

Chennaiyin sit in second place as they miss out on their second consecutive opportunity to go at the top of table as they failed to win both of their games against their direct rivals.
