Barcelona 3-1 Ajax - Match Report

Barcelona: Ter Stegen, Piqué, Rakitic, Pedro, Iniesta, Messi, Neymar, Mascherano, Bartra, Alba, Alves.

Ajax: Cillessen; Van Rhijn, Veltman, Moisander, Viergever; Klaassen, Zimling, Andersen; Schöne, Sigthórsson, Kishna.

Overview of the game:

Barcelona where back to wining ways in Champions League after their 3-2 drubbing by PSG in the last game week. Barca who lined up in a 4-3-3, started off quickly with Pedro and Neymar helping Leo Messi in the attack. The game saw its first goal in seven minutes with after a sublime run from Leo Messi and a even better pass for Neymar to slot it home past Cillessen.

As the game progressed, it saw Barcelona totally dominate the proceedings on the ball and off it. Leo Messi almost doubled the lead through a Jordi Alba cross as Barca kept on piling the pressure on a less experienced Ajax side. Ajax tried to steady their ship as they wanted to grow into the game but another moment of brilliance from Leo Messi put an end to anything what Ajax wanted too. I was a cruise for Barca as Ajax struggled to contain Messi and co. It was 2-0 at half time whistle.

There was a change at half time for Ajax, Frank introduced Milik for Kishna. Barcelona started as they left, Messi almost scored a second before it was called off side which was the correct decision. The striker was proving unstoppable as he sizzled his magic with a clean trick as the Camp Nou grasped for breath as the crowd witnessed Leo Messi at his best. The game went on, Neymar was replaced by youngster Sandro Ramirez as Barcelona dominated the possession, but Ajax from no where scored a 88th minute goal to give them a hope of glimmer as the flooded Barca's box in a hope of another with Barcelona threatened, the game saw a dramatic ending.

Ajax where attacking and committed everyone forward, which left two defenders in their half, Barcelona won back possession and made swift counter to secure all three points courtesy Sandro Ramirez.
