Real Madrid’s injury woes

Real Madrid’s squad depth has been envied by clubs world over. Los Galacticos are known to have a superstar in every position and a superstar replacement incase they are forced to manage with one of their preferred stars are not available.

Carlo Ancelotti’s team is right now embroiled into one the aforementioned situations. Los Blancos are currently without their seven first team players. Midfield and defence are the worst hit departments. Real are currently without Fabio Coentrao, Sergio Ramos, James Rodriguez, Sami Khedira, Luka Modric, and Fernando Pacheco along with Pepe.

Pepe was deemed fit to face Deportivo La Coruna but he has been again ruled out due to a rib injury. But there is some respite in the defence as Marcelo is back in the squad after being suspended for the match against Atlético de Madrid. Real Madrid Castilla duo Derik Osede and Álvaro Medrán have also made the squad.

This in a long time when Real is forced to look up for reinforcements in their Castilla squad. This injury crisis may give new signings like Lucas Silva a decent chance to take that spot in the starting lineup which is up for grabs.

The players called up to the squad are: Casillas, Navas, Pacheco, Arbeloa, Carvajal, Varane, Nacho, Derik, Marcelo, Illarramendi, Kroos, Lucas Silva, Isco, Medrán, Bale, Jesé, Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema and Chicharito.
