Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho to bid for Edinson Cavan

A latest sound bite doing the rounds suggests that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is nowhere near done in the transfer window as he is sizing up a deal for Paris Saint Germain’s Edinson Cavani.

Mourinho has already signed world-class players such as Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas and Filipe Luis in cash-rich deals and yet he is looking to strengthen the squad further more by acquiring the Uruguayan star.

The Londoners are supposedly considering a £40m move for the 27-year-old to compete a much stronger unit in all the tournaments they play for.

Tactically, the move makes sense as Cavani has pace on his side and Mourinho style of play needs exactly that. It combined with his dangerous attacking skills can make Chelsea intimidating to an opponent if it already isn’t.

On Cavani’s side, the player will definitely consider the switch as his unhappiness is apparent at Paris as he is playing out of his preferred position at the wings which takes the sting out of his attack.

All in all, if this move comes to happen, the two sides combined will be very happy and will see unmatched success in the coming season.
