Chennaiyin FC vs FC Pune City Preview

Chennaiyin hosts a resurgent FC Pune as both the sides will look to close gap on league leaders Atletico de Kolkata. Although both the teams are coming off a draw but they will look for a win when they clash tomorrow in Chennai.

Key Battles

John Stiven Mendoza vs Bruno Cirillo

Mendoza is Chennaiyin’s spark in the attack along with set piece specialist Elano. The Columbian has taken the league by storm and he will be looking to do the same against Pune.

Bruno Cirillo has been very solid for Pune and will be looking to continue his fine form down south.

Gouramangi Singh vs Dudu Omagbemi

Gouramangi is the India’s best defender and he is delivering the goods for Marco Materazzi’s side. He will be facing a powerful striker in Dudu, who has been in fine form as he is keeping David Trezeguet at bay.

Dudu will be looking to get a few goals in his kitty but he will have to get past Indian international.

Players to watch

Chennaiyin FC

Elano Blumer –

The ‘Free-Kick’ king has been instrumental in the Southerners’ rise to the top 4 and without a doubt he is their best playmaker. He can tear defences apart with his vision and passing as he did so against so many teams. He can never be ignored! Unless if you want to lose a game.

FC Pune City

Kostas Kastouranis –

The former Greek international has been a dynamic midfielder for the Maharashtra side. He has changed the look of this side with his box-to-box approach. Along with this, he has a venomous shot from distance.
