Cristiano Ronaldo sweeps La Liga awards

Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo won three awards at the annual LFP gala this week. The forward won the honors on the back of a stellar campaign where he scored 30 goals in 31 league games for Los Blancos.

The Portuguese international won Liga Player of the Year award along with bagging the awards for the Best Forward and Best Goal. The awards were expected as Ronaldo had a fruitful domestic season compared to Real, who finished third behind fierce rivals Atletico Madrid and FC Barcelona.

"I have to thank my teammates, Real Madrid, my family... it is a very good moment in my career,"

Ronaldo said.

"For me, the important thing is to win collective prizes, but I like the individual ones, too. I work every day, in training, to continue adding more to this."

Ronaldo is also favorite to win the prestigious Ballon D’or award, as he propelled his team to a historic 10th European crown.
