Spain vs Ukraine Match Preview

Defending European champions Spain will be looking to reach the summit of their group as they host Ukraine tonight in the crucial Euro 16 qualifier.

Spain is playing catch up the Slovakia, who have surprised everyone with their form in the qualifying campaign as they sit at the top of the table.

Since Slovaks face Luxembourg it means that Spain has to win this tie against Ukraine to stay in hunt for the top spot. Ukraine will provide more than stern test to the title holders and should not be underestimated.

Team News

Spain will be without their in-form striker Diego Costa who has pulled out of the qualifier due to a hamstring injury. Manchester United’s David De Gea is expected to start instead of captain Iker Casillas. Alvaro Morata is likely to replace Costa in the starting lineup.

The visitors will be without Mikhail Fomenko and Sergiy Sydorchuk, as both of them are ruled out due to injuries.

Probable Lineups

Spain - Casillas; Juanfran, Ramos, Pique, Alba; Busquets, Iniesta, Fabregas; Pedro, Morata, Silva

Ukraine - Pyatov; Fedetskiy, Rakitskiy, Khacheridi, Shevchuk, Stepanenko, Tymoshchuk, Konoplyanka, Yarmolenko, Zozulya, Oliynyk

TFM predicts a 2-1 win for the defending champs and the hosts Spain.
