Overview:

In a show of attack versus defense, the show of strength after a new banner for Steven Gerrard was unfurled at the Kop end showing their appreciation towards their captain.

Liverpool came close with Gerrard hitting the post, which was unlucky but it was as if he tried to be too perfect. Later the captain was subbed off in favour of Lallana.

The Liverpool man had an instant impact as soon as he came on, and tried a audacious shot at goal with Courtious keeping it out brilliantly.
