Kerala Blasters’ David James is bankrupt!

Former England international goalkeeper David James has gone bust, if reports in the British media are to be believed.

James has played for over two decades in England’s top flight notably for the clubs like Liverpool, Manchester City, Aston Villa and West Ham United amongst others. The 40 year old shot stopper was believed to be worth around £20m in 2005.

Blasters’ manager divorced from his wife in 2005 and it is billed as the main reason for his dire financial condition. He had to offer almost £3 m in settlement to Tanya. He has since then been in the financial turmoil.

He resorted to coaching and punditing on TV for BT Sport to help him out of the muddle. James will recover from bankruptcy in a year, as it is speculated by media, it remains to be seen whether he does or not. David James and his camp maintained their silence on the issue.
