Diego Costa Injured

Spain international striker and Barclay's Premier Leagues' top scorer Diego Costa is set to miss the teams Euro qualifying games through an hamstring injury.

Costa who scored for Chelsea against Hull as the leaders extended their lead to six points with a game in hand.

Costa who was superb, scored early in the first half. That goal was his 19th of his Premier League season. But Costa came off 15 minutes before the game ended.

He underwent scans on the hamstring at Chelsea’s Cobham training ground on Monday before travelling to Spain’s base in Las Rozas, 25km outside Madrid, having been requested to do so by the Spanish football federation.

Costa will be seen by the national team doctors there and if, as anticipated, they confirm Chelsea’s diagnosis, the forward will fly back to London later on Tuesday.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was quoted saying:

"We know his hamstring is not a strong one. Costa works hard through the week to compensate this weakness but the injury can come to a guy with a lot of experience of hamstring injuries, says "its over for me", then it is over for him"
