If recent reports in the States are anything to go by, there is a huge saga brewing up across the Atlantic regarding the future of superstar footballer Thierry Henry.
The Head of Global soccer for the Red Bulls, Gerarf Houllier had made a statement earlier this year which signaled curtains at the Red Bull career of his compatriot.
"He was planning on ending his career," Houllier said. "It's possible that these are his last matches. Perhaps the desire [to play] will tickle him and he'll retire somewhere else, but it won't be with the Red Bulls."
Now in a dramatic U-turn of sorts, Houllier has given a statement that Henry is a Red Bull player and no decision on his future has been made.
"In fact, no decision has been made," Houllier is quoted as saying. "For now, Thierry is with the Red Bulls."
Red Bulls’ Sporting Director, Andy Roxburgh also played coy on the future of their superstar.
"I’ve got a good idea of the way it's going, he’s got a good idea as well, but we won’t come out and publicly declare anything just yet.”
If these quotes are anything to go by then, Thierry Henry is very much on course for extending his spell in New York.
