Karim Shaikh nets 2 goals for Naaz United
Mumbai: Experienced sharp-shooter Karim Shaikh’s double strikes were the feature of Naaz United’s comfortable 4-1 win against Kalakaar Indians in a 3rd round match of the Colaba Super League, conducted under auspices of the MDFA, supported by Aadhar Pratishthan and played at the Back Gardens, Colaba. Vaibhav Tandel and Lakhan Lokhande scored a goal each to seal the win for Naaz United. Chetan Naik got the lone goal for the losing side.
Earlier in a well-contested match, Lavesh Patil struck a late winner as Hina Royals clinched a 5-goal thriller as they came from behind to overcome Konnark Realtors by a close 3-2 margin. Mrunal Tandel scored twice as Konnark Realtors wrested the early initiative to grab a 2-0 lead.
However, a spirited Hina Royals bounced back in style with Yogendra Meher and Dhiraj Meher scored a goal each to neutralise Konnark’s lead. Later, Patil from out of the blue fired home the winning goal.
Meanwhile, Golden Tigers got the better of Yash Warriors 5-4 via the penalty shootout after the scores were tied 1-all at the end of regulation period.
