Kerala Blasters vs FC Pune City – Preview

A do or die match for both the teams as the Southerners will be looking to end their home run on a high. On the other side, Pune will be looking to win this game at all costs with a huge margin and hope that Dynamos falter at Chennai.

A match which will be riveting due the stakes involved but also will be dependent on other factors as well. Tonight for both these teams it is all or nothing.

Key Battle

Iain Hume vs Bruno Cirillo

The Canadian Centre forward has been a talisman for David James’ defensive side. His work rate and lethal finishing are the assets which give Blasters a solid overall shape. He will be up against Pune’s mainstay Cirillo.

Cirillo has been an omnipresent fixture in Pune’s defense and has led that defence commendably. This is going to be a mouthwatering clash between two tactically competent players.

Players to Watch

Kerala

Stephen Pearson –

The Scottish bomber has been an influential figure in midfield for David James’ side. An all action midfielder has been a commanding presence in the midfield by making a consistent forward surge at every possible instance.

Pune

Kostas Kastouranis –

The Greek midfielder is heart and soul of David Colomba’s side. If he has his way tonight then it is very difficult for Blasters to stop Pune from marching into the semi-finals.
