The Swedish ace Zlatan reportedly donated 350,000 krona from his pocket for some mentally disabled kids’ dream to represent his country in the World Cup in Brazil.

Swedish assistant coach Stefan Jonsson got in touch with Zlatan and asked for one of his jersey to auction off in order to raise money to send the kids on their journey.

Zlatan was taken aback by Jonsson’s request and he instead decided to donate the money from his own pocket. The money the Swedish international donated would exchange for about €38,000.

By doing so, the eccentric footballer showed that he has a kind side to him wrapped under his tough outlook.

Jonsson brought out the actual conversation that happened between him and the gentle giant, he said: “What the hell are you going with a jersey? What does it cost to go?” When we said that we need to SEK 350 000. He asked for the account number and deposited it.”

Zlatan also spoke about his donation while ruminating on the chances of missing out on a trip to Brazil and said “Football should be played by anyone, regardless of gender, disability or not. And when we missed the World Cup, I was deeply disappointed.

“I said to myself that I wanted to do everything in my power to help them to experience the World Cup. There was nothing to think about. It was a given.”

Jonsson also mentioned that Ibrahimovic’s wife Helene Seger cried when she heard about the issue as he said: “Helena Seger was sincerely touched and cried when he told her about his gesture. They seem to be really nice people, both of them. And Zlatan is really the opposite of what people think he is – a warm and kindful person.”
