Barca hit back through Neymar hat trick against Granada

A lot was made in the midweek when a possession loving Barcelona side came away with a 0-0 draw at La Rosadela against Malaga. But the La Blauragana gave a befitting reply to all their detractors by demolishing a hapless Granada side 6-0 at Camp Nou.

Neymar, riding on a high after an impressive home World Cup, announced his arrival for the season with a sublime hat trick. Ivan Rakitic also chipped in with a solitary goal for the hosts.

Lionel Messi, finally broke his long awaited record of 400 career goals for club and country, with a brace.

The Brazilian opened his as well as the team’s account finishing off a beautiful move involving him, Messi and Rakitic in 26th minute. He went on to add another just at the stroke of half time. Minutes before Neymar’s second, Rakitic scored one for himself as Barca were in the groove.

Lionel Messi broke the record of 400 goals in the second half as he and Neymar combined in the 62nd minute. Neymar completed his hat trick in 66th minute and sealed the game for Barca.

Messi then completed a total rout as he scored his second and sixth for the hosts as the night kept getting longer for the Granada fans.

Barca is still unbeaten in the league and is yet to concede a goal in the league as well. Luis Enrique’s side are sitting comfortably at the top of La Liga standings.
