Harry Kane inspired Spurs rout Chelsea 5-3 at White Hart Lane as the Jose Mourinho’s boys have got a rude shock in 2015. Eden Hazard was the only shining light for the dismal Blues.
The match began along the expected lines as Diego Costa netted the opener for the table toppers but Harry Kane soon equalized for the hosts and then all hell broke loose. Spurs just went into overdrive mode as Chelsea’s midfield and attack just couldn’t cope with this sudden onslaught by the Lilywhites.
Danny Rose powered the hosts into lead at the half time along with a contentious penalty from Andros Townsend gave Spurs a comfortable situation within the first hour. Man of the match Kane gave them a very comfortable lead 52nd minute. Eden Hazard the only bright spark for Jose Mourinho’s team scored in the 61st minute to get Chelsea back in the game but that wasn’t enough.
Nacer Chadli scored the fifth to complete the rout in 78th minute while John Terry scored a consolation in 87th minute. This crushing defeat has thrown the title race wide open as City won a thriller against Sunderland at Etihad with both the teams level on points and goal difference.
