Kerala and Mumbai played out a engrossing yet a goalless draw as Kerala's search for goal continues. The team from the south who is being coached by veteran English Keeper struggled to put the ball past Mumbai keeper Paul after chance after chance fell to Blasters side.
This was the home sides second successive goalless draw at their home stadium, where the fans have flocked in upwards of 40,000 to see their team play. Milagres Gonsalves who scored the winner for Kerala's first ever win has been an player who has built his reputation in front of the home fans and has become one of the fan favorites already. But even he couldn't break the ice between the two sides, as he missed a absolute sitter.
But Mumbai keeper and India's number one was brilliant again as you could say, he won Peter Reid's side a well earned point as he saved a blind header and saved a second from Kerala captain Orji. But the Blasters kept coming and kept knocking at the door. Kerala looked like they had a game plan as they came out of the blocks to avenge their away defeat which was courtesy of a Nicolas Anelka magic free kick.
Mumbai had far few chances as they never really tested keeper coach James, until Tiago hit the post where James was beaten. That was one of the few chances Mumbai could have converted and went back home with all three points as their defending was sturdy. But Peter Ried would be happy as the game ended goalless. With Mumbai being lucky, left Kerala hard done.
