A £8.5 million deal was agreed between the player’s current club Queens Park Rangers and the Merseyside club but with the striker failing the test the deal has now come to a halt.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers spoke on the issue and said, “It's very simple - we've made a decision as a club not to go ahead with the deal. It's unfortunate for the player.
“We're disappointed for the player but there's nothing more to be said and we will move on and look at other targets.”
Had the deal gone through Remy would have been the Red’s fourth signing behind Rickie Lambert, Emre Can and Lazar Markovic.
It is being reported that the player has a history of failing medicals 4 times and has a hole in his heart.
