Maximum points for Republic of Ireland as Captain Keane scores a hattrick




Two wins in two games, as Republic of Ireland romped to a 7-0 victory against newcomers Gibraltar. Gibraltar who where playing only their seventh international game, were the visiting team for the night.



Ireland captain and La Galaxy front man was on the score sheet as early as six minutes into the game, who eventually went to score a third hattrick for his country and his 65 international goal.



Robbie Keane completed his hattrick in the 18th minute with the first two being assisted by Wes Hoolahan. And the third coming through a penalty. Keane's hattrick yesterday means he becomes the top scorer in European Championship qualifying history. Striker has now notched 21 goals in European qualifiers, one ahead of former Turkey striker Hakan Sukur.
