Pune FC blank Churchill brothers in the 127th Durand Cup Quarter Finals


In all the crazy fan-fair of the Indian Super League, India's original cup competition was under way as Pune FC took on Churchill brothers in the group D quarter final game of Durand cup which is in its 127th year.



Pune FC defeated Churchill Brothers by a comprehensive score line as the team from Maharashtra progressed further in the cup competition. Churchill Brothers who have been deprived by all India Football Federation from playing in the I-League for failing to meet the club licensing criteria.



The game was played in Margao, with Pune FC's stadium being occupied by FC Pune City the ISL team.



Pune FC who where impressive last season in the I league, where the better team as they scored thrice to beat a hapless Churchill side. Churchill had no way back into the game. Their midfield lacked thrust and their attack lacked creativity.
