Milan Derby Preview

One of the most highly anticipated fixtures of Serie A is here on the horizon as Inter welcomes its city rival AC Milan tomorrow. It is one of the most keenly fought fixtures in Serie A’s history.

Of late the fixture has lost its original glory and sheen as both the Milan clubs are enduring a rough patch. Milan and Internazionale both are languishing in midtable and even European football seems a distant dream forget about the nail biting title races of yesteryears.

The reverse fixture which took place earlier in the season ended in a 1-1 draw as both the teams failed to capitalize on their chances. This derby has always been one of the low scoring derbies in recent years as only five goals have been scored in past seven meetings.

Team News

Inter are heading into this derby with some roadblocks as they will be without their key players, Marcelo Brozovic and Fredy Guarin , both of them are suspended. Mateo Kovacic and the scorer in the reverse fixture Joel Obi will look to break into the starting XI.

Milan will miss Mattia Destro who will be out due to the injury he suffered against Sampdoria. Former Liverpool man Suso or Giacomo Bonaventura will be the likely ones to replace the former Roma man.

Possible starting lineup

Inter Milan

Handanovic, Santon, Ranocchia, Vidic, Juan Jesus, Hernanes, Medel, Kovacic, Shaqiri, Icardi, Palacio

AC Milan

Lopez, Abate, Mexes, Paletta, Antonelli, Poli, De Jong, Van Ginkel, Cerci, Bonaventura, Menez

TFM predicts a 1-1 draw.
