Mohun Bagan v Bengaluru FC – Preview

After enduring a tricky start this season, defending champions Bengaluru FC will travel to Kolkata in yet another big clash as Mohun Bagan prepare to host them. One of the blue ribbon fixture of I-League which as always played a key role in the title race.

Bagan are coming on the back of a grueling Kolkata derby where they drew 1-1 with East Bengal. Bagan came back to claw a point against their local rivals in a thrilling derby. On the other hand, Bengaluru FC is slowly getting back to their form of last season which won them the league. They breezed past Shillong Lajong effortlessly.

Ashley Westwood will be looking to carry on the solid defensive form displayed by his team in recent games as the boys in blue have kept three clean sheets in a row. The hosts would like to get anything from this game considering their pedestrian record against fellow title challengers in recent past.

Team News

The Mariners will be having a full squad to choose from as none of the players are out due to any reason whatsoever.

Bengaluru will miss their defender Curtis Osano who is out due to the suspension after earning a red card in Bengaluru’s last game against Shillong.

Probable Lineups

Mohun Bagan - Debjit; Pritam, Bello, Kingshuk, Dhanachandra; Katsumi, Bikramjit, Denson, Sony; Boya, Balwant.

Bengaluru - Mawia (GK), Osano, Johnson, Joshua Walker, Thoi Singh, Eugenson, Beikho, Robin Singh, Chhetri (C) , Keegan, Shankar

TFM predicts a 2-1 win for Bengaluru as they should be too hot for the Mariners to handle.
