Mumbai FC conduct successful Grassroots Festival with CSL and Leaders Course with WIFA

Mumbai – 16th May 2015

Mumbai FC successfully conducted a Grassroots Festival with Colaba Sports League (CSL) at the Cooperage Back Garden, Colaba in Mumbai to commemorate the AFC Grassroots Day on 15th May, 2015.

The Festival took place in the evening from 4 pm to 7 pm with over 100 kids participating. The coaches involved the kids in various fun-based football activities and mini-games which would make them familiar with basics of football.

Mumbai FC’s Head of Youth Development, Kundan Chandra, was ecstatic after the festival was conducted successfully as he said, “It was absolutely amazing to have all these kids participate in the festival on the AFC Grassroots Day. We always try to make sure that each and every kid has fun. Enjoying the game is the most important aspect of football and such enjoyment would want the kids to play football and football related games more and more which would train them to become good players in the future. One crucial aspect of Grassroots is the parents. They can be the biggest motivators for their kids and it is amazing to see so many parents encouraging their kids to participate in the Grassroots Festival today.”

CSL’s chairman, Krishna Pawle, was really happy to see the response as he said, “This is what we all want. The sport is becoming more and more popular and I am glad to see kids having fun via football. I would like to thank all the parents that brought their children for the festival.”

Mumbai FC also conducted the first day of Grassroots Leaders Course with WIFA in the morning, which will go on till 17th May, to celebrate the Grassroots Day. The Leader's course which is taking place at the Cooperage Football Stadium saw 42 coaches participating.

AIFF’s General Secretary graced the occasion as he inaugurated the Course.
