Netherlands lose to Czech Republic in their Euro qualifier opener.

Netherlands slumped to a 2-1 defeat to Czech Republic thanks to a stoppage time winner from Vaclav Pilar in 91st minute. The Dutch looked out of sorts for a major part of the game as the Czechs kept them in control throughout the game.

The only positive for the Dutch was a spark from Memphis Depay who was sizzling on the field. He somewhat filled in the boots in place of the injured Arjen Robben.

It was the home side who opened the scoring through Borek Dockal in 22nd minute. Netherlands were dismal in first half as they are struggling to come grips with life post the successful Louis van Gaal era.

The Oranje however started the second half brightly as they notched up an equaliser through defender Stefan De Vrij. Manchester United new boy Daley Blind provided a scrumptious delivery to the Lazio defender. The match gave us the impression that both the teams would share the spoils. Not until a horrendous blunder by Daryl Janmaat allowing midfielder Pilar to sneak in a winner late in the game. Newcastle United man's error cost Guus Hiddink's side to register points in this campaign.

This is Guus Hiddink's second defeat after he took over from Louis Van Gaal . No Netherlands manager has had two defeats in both of his opening games since 1995. Last man to do so was is same man in-charge. Yes! Guus Hiddink.
