Bulgaria who have appointed a new football coach, wants the striker to come out of retirement and re join the national team.
Ivaylo Petev, who was appointed Bulgaria coach on Thursday, said: "I have the ambition to meet him and talk."
Berbatov who has 48 goals for his national side, is a role model foe many of the countries kids. With Bulgarian standing 4th in the group table, new coach Ivaylo wants the striker to lead the line.
