Alan Pardew’s Newcastle United has made their sixth signing of the season as they brought in Argentine Facundo Ferreyra from Shakthar Donetsk.

The 23-year-old has been signed for a season-long loan with an option to buy if need be for Newcastle.

He spoke to Newcastle’s website and said: “I am very pleased to sign for Newcastle United. I like the Premier League and when I knew that Newcastle were interested in me, it was a very easy decision to make.

“I spoke to my friend Fabricio Coloccini, and when he told me about the club, I didn’t need to think twice”, said the youngster.

Team manager Alan Pardew also spoke on the arrival of the player he said delightedly: “This is a player who has played at the top level and is highly-regarded in Argentina. He has tremendous potential and hopefully he can realise that here at Newcastle United.”
