Spanish news outlet AS has made claims that, Real Madrid have sounded out to Manchester United number one about replacing Iker Casillas.

De Gea who is a Madrid local child, has been in this United side for three years now, but has seen his stock rise.

National team coach Vicente del Bosque has already pointed De Gea out as the natural replacement for Casillas in La Roja's goal and Madrid are of the same mind, with United having signed Victor Valdes as a backup in case he decides to move.

Valdes signed an 18-month contract and recently said of his new teammate: "De Gea is the best goalkeeper in the world."
