Ten Underrated players across top five European Leagues

After Rooney's jibe of Carrick not being a regular in the English national team this week, we've decided to look at ten player who deserve all the credit but go unnoticed.

Here's the list of ten underrated players across top five European Leagues:

10) Miralem Pjanic

The Bosnian midfielder has played an crucial role in the AS Roma’s growth since joining from Lyon as an 21 year old. Pjanic has been generally deployed as playmaker providing all the vital passes and crosses which in many ways changed the outcome of most games. And at the age of 24, with the maturity with which he distributions the ball around is a skills which he possesses is admirable. That's one of the reasons why he rightfully features in this list.

9) Javier Mascherano

Javier Mascherano whose motivation to join Barcelona was winning trophies, has been successfully achieved. But one thing the midfielder did sacrifice to do that was give away playing in the midfield as a destroyer, for which he was known for. Mascherano who now plays as full time centre back eased in position without much fuss or complaints. One reason why every Barcelona fan should salute him.

8) Fraser Forster

One of the major reasons for Southampton success this season. Keeper Fraser Forster started every game for the Saints this season, before injuring himself last week. The English no. 2 has 13 clean sheets, three more than his nearest rival. Southampton who aim to bring European football next season to the St.Marys have been handed a blow after Fosters knee injury.

7) Carlos Tevez

One man who has single handedly took the mantel of scoring for Juventus this year, Carlos Tevez has had a terrific season till date. Always marred by controversy, the Argentinian is now performing to his fullest with not much media pressure with Pogba, Vidal and Pirlo hogging all the lime light.

6) Cesar Azpilicueta

The right back who joined Chelsea for a just £7m from Marseille two seasons ago, has come leaps and bounds. Azpilicueta or Dave as he's called by the Chelsea faithful has played a whole host of games since joining Chelsea and making the left back spot his own.

5) Antonio Valencia

Gone are the days when Antonio Valencia stormed and bombed the right wing, with player now converted into a more defensive role now, playing as a right back this season for Manchester United under manager Louis Van Gaal.

4) Thiago Motta

He might have had an year to forget, but when on field Thiago Motta is one player you'd not want to mess with. Doing is job subtly, and cutting off any opposition attacks, Thiago Motta is a man who you would want when you go on a war.

3) Nathaniel Clyne

Southampton have exceeded their own expectations after a brilliant season to date. One man who has stood out with some outstanding performance is their right back Nathaniel Clyne. Clyne who had decent year last season, now looks like a force to be reckoned with.

2) Antoine Griezmann

Since making his move from Real Sociedad to Atletico Madrid this season, Antoine Griezmann might have gained fans, but we do think he has lost out on some admirers. He might not have the numbers statistically but the man with Platinum hair, has had a season which he'd never forget. The winger cum striker has played a vital role in Diego Simeone coached Atletico Madrid side. And we believe he deserve much more than he's getting right now.

1) James Milner

The Manchester City man whose contract ends this season might well be the most chased free agent come summer. James Milner has been outstanding all season long. He has filled in all possible position and has helped gain vital points in the Championship race with Chelsea. With Yaya Toure and Fernandinho failing to make much impact this season James Miler has come to the Citizens many a times. And we here at the Football Mind have never seen any player as underrated and underused like James Milner for Manchester City.
