Attendance soars after WWC
Record setting crowd capacity was witnessed when stars of the World Cup returned to domestic action with their clubs in Women's Super League. 17 of the 23 members in the England's Womens Football team made an appearance
The average attendance of Sunday's WSL 1 games was 78% higher than the average for the first half of the 2015 season.
Liverpool beat Arsenal 3 – 1 and the crowd present to witness the match was about 250% more than the their last match. Record breaking 2102 people saw Machester City beat Birmingham City 1 – 0 at the Academy Stadium. About 1200 people saw Chelsea beat Bristol Academy 4 – 1 at at Staines Town and about 1000 people saw Sunderland beat Notts County 2 – 1 at the Hetton Centre.

The Women's World Cup final between Japan and USA was seen by a record 25.4 million viewers, highest for any football game shown on English-language television in USA. Spanish channel Telemundo had 1.3 million viewers watching the same match making the total of about 26.7 million viewers, beating the previous record set by men's World Cup match between Argentina and Germany last year.
In other news, Chelsea are currently leading the WSL1 with 17 points while Arsenal are second with 12. A win for Manchester City in their current fixture ensures that the gap between them and the second placed Arsenal is just 4 points.
