The Manchester Derby!

We head into this season's second Manchester derby, but this time its Manchester United who lead Manchester City by a point going into the game at Old Trafford.

The red side of the Manchester who have now gone on to win their last five games do look as the better side. While City who faced their third defeat in the last four games in all competition would look for an source of inspiration.

Victory for the home side this weekend would see come close to securing a top four finish whilst putting their rivals in some doubt over qualifying for next season’s Champions League.

Team News:

Manchester United:

Center back Chris Smalling still remains a doubt after picking up an illness during international duty in Italy more than a week ago. Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo who played in the middle of the United defence, in their win over Aston Villa last weekend are expected to continue. While Jonny Evans is still suspended.

Robin van Persie is the only other absentee for the Dutch manager – Wayne Rooney has been playing as a sole striker in his absence.

Manchester City:

Manager Manuel Pellegrini doesn’t have too many problems with injuries or suspensions, but he does have an odd problem that a lot of his players appear to have been on holiday in their minds in recent weeks. The Chilean manager has a full squad to pick from to face their local rivals.

Probable Line Up:

Man United: De Gea, Valencia, Jones, Rojo, Blind, Carrick, Herrera, Felliani, Young, Mata, Rooney.

Man City: Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Mangala, Kolarov, Fernandinho, Yaya Toure, Silva, Milner, Navas, Aguero.

Key Stats:

3 – Manchester City have lost each of their last three Premier League away games – at Liverpool, Burnley and Crystal Palace.

4 – Manchester City are on a four-game winning streak in the Premier League versus the Red Devils.

5 – Manchester United are currently on a five-game winning streak in the Premier League, scoring 11 goals during this run and conceding only two.

Prediction:

Man United 2-2 Man City
