Torres off to Milan – It’s Official!

The things are turning weird by the day as Fernando Torres made his loan move to AC Milan a permanent one. Contrary to reports where, Milan were reportedly looking to offload him back to Chelsea. The Rossoneri have signed him on a permanent deal.

Chelsea thanked the Spaniard for his contribution at the club after making then, British record move to Chelsea from Liverpool.

“The striker moved to the San Siro on a two-year loan deal in August and on January 5 he will complete a permanent transfer to the Serie A side.

In the busy 2012/13 season his 22 goals were spread over seven competitions, a club record.

Chelsea Football Club thanks Fernando for his service during the past four seasons and wishes him the very best for the future.”

But the rumor mills are fading to die down. It seems Milan want to offload him on loan after owning him. According BBC Sport, he will be loaned out to former club Atletico Madrid next month, with Italy winger Alessio Cerci, 27, arriving from the Spanish side.

Earlier on Saturday, Atletico assistant coach German Burgos also said a deal was "on the verge of completion".

"He will be a very important reinforcement for the second half of the season," Diego Simeone's number two told Spanish media.

More to come on this saga. Stay tuned..
