Spurs 2-2 West Ham - Report

Tottenham: Lloris, Walker, Dier, Vertonghen, Rose, Bentaleb, Mason, Lamela, Dembele, Townsend, Kane

West Ham: Adrian, Jenkinson, Tomkins, Reid, Cresswell, Song, Noble, Kouyate, Downing, Sakho, Valencia

Spurs continue to put in spirited displays with a stunning comeback at the White Hart Lane against West Ham in this crucial London derby. With Liverpool marching onto the top four spots, Spurs are looking to keep up with the Merseyside club in order to make a return in Champions League football.

West Ham started the game brightly as they took an early lead through Cheikou Kouyate as he heads home the ball on a delicious cross from Aaron Cresswell. They continued to bully Spurs in midfield and were unlucky to not score more goals.

Soon their good work paid off in the second half as Diafra Sakho doubled their lead at the hour mark. Mark Noble’s cross was excellently finished by Sakho. From here on, its all about Spurs.

Spurs were nearly harmless till the time they scored in a bizarre fashion as Adrian misjudged the bounce of Danny Rose’s volley which looped over the Hammers’ keeper. The goal sparked the Spurs’ comeback bid as they started to venture out more.

Star man Harry Kane once again saved the day for the hosts as he converted a penalty kick in the dying seconds of the stoppage time. It was more or less the last kick of the game. Adrian saved Kane’s penalty but the Englishman lapped up the rebound to head the ball home and save the day for the Lilywhites.
