Tony Pulis’ West Bromwich Albion thrashed West Ham United by four goals as FA Cup continued to spring surprises in 5th Round as well. Brown Ideye scored a brace as Saido Berahino and James Morrison chipped in with a goal to complete the rout.
West Ham were tipped as the favourites before entering the fixture but the home sider just blew them away with their stunning display on both the sides of the pitch. A superb counterattacking approach with a solid defensive organization did Hammers in.
Ideye opened the scoring in 20th minute with a powerful header was deflected the ball home on a sublime Craig Dawson cross. It was a poacher’s goal to say the least. Baggies doubled their advantage before the half-time as James Morrison scored a stunner.
The second half was even more miserable for the Hammers as they failed to get any sort of potency into their attack. Morgan Amalfitano’s red card didn’t do them any favours as the visitors lost even more ground. West Brom capitalized on this as Ideye scored his second and Baggies’ third in 57th minute with yet another powerful header.
Saido Berahino scored a cheeky goal in 72nd minute as he beat Adrian at his near post to complete the rout. This was the Englishman’s 16th goal of the season and his second in as many games. Tony Pulis is shaping up his side to his liking as we can see the change in style of West Brom. Can the former Stoke manager work his magic at Hawthorns? In time we will get our answers but till then its all merry in Albion.
